Reports To: Vice President of The Student Experience                                                                                                                     FLSA Status: Exempt

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Job Summary: The Director of Advising and Success Center provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for all advising and career service functions within Hill College. This position is responsible for the supervision of programs, services, resources, and staff across Advising & Success Centers, with a focus on supporting student success, retention, and completion.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Minimum Required 

Education:                                       Master's degree in education, counseling, psychology, student personnel services, communications, or a related field; or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Minimum Required 

Experience:                                      Three years in counseling, advising, and/or teaching in higher education.

                                                           Three years of supervisory and management experience.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Core Duties:                                    Provides academic and personal advising, including course and major selection, career guidance, and community referrals.

Reviews disability documentation and ensure appropriate accommodations are prescribed in compliance with applicable regulations.

Supervises, trains, and evaluates Advising & Success Center staff.

Coordinates tutoring services and collaborate with faculty to support student learning.

Develops, implements, and promotes advising services, educational workshops, and career readiness initiatives.

Promotes student retention and completion through learning support programs.

Coordinates transfer services with other institutions.

Serves as primary point of contact for students in distress, facilitating appropriate referrals and support.

Working knowledge of financial data, student assessments, strategic planning, TRiO, GEAR-UP, Carl D. Perkins regulations, and student information systems such as Jenzabar.

Serves on the Behavior Intervention and the Community Advocacy, Response and Engagement Teams.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Strategic Vision and  

Program Development:                Direct the development, implementation, and management of learning support initiatives.

Evaluate the delivery and effectiveness of advising services and monitor student progress.

Participate in budget development, resource allocation, and grant fund oversight.

Provide vision and leadership to align advising and student success initiatives with the mission and strategic priorities of Hill College.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Collaboration:                                Foster collaboration and engagement among faculty, staff, and institutional leaders in advancing student success initiatives.

Maintain strong working relationships with the executive leadership team and contribute to institutional decision-making processes.

Partner with college leadership to prioritize student achievement and community enrichment.

Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment that provides a sense of belonging for all.

Physical Requirements:                Light work: exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for light work.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Other Information:                Weekend and evening work may be required.

                                                   Travel required.

                                                   Security-sensitive position.

                                                   Performs other duties as assigned.
