What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winery Associate position at Hill and Bach Cellars?
Hill & Bach Cellars is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and versatile Winery Associate to join our team as we prepare to open our new winery experience in Boerne.
This is a hands-on support role that helps keep the winery clean, organized, and running smoothly. The Winery Associate will assist with bussing and resetting tables, light kitchen duties, property maintenance, event setup and cleanup, and other day-to-day tasks that support our team and guest experience.
Responsibilities
● Assist the kitchen with basic food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, and restocking
● Help keep kitchen and service areas organized and ready for service
● Help with general upkeep and maintenance of the winery grounds and outdoor areas
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest and service areas
● Assist with opening and closing duties
● Restock supplies and communicate when items need to be replenished
● Help with moving tables, chairs, equipment, and other items as needed
● Bus, clean, and reset tables and dining areas throughout service
● Assist with event setup, breakdown, and cleanup for private events, wine club events, and special programming
● Assist with wine service during slower periods
● Work closely with the kitchen, hospitality, and events teams
● Jump in wherever needed to support the team and keep daily operations running smoothly
Qualifications
● Must have or obtain a valid Food Handler Card and TABC Certification
● Previous restaurant, hospitality, maintenance, or similar experience preferred
● Dependable, hardworking, and willing to take initiative
● Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
● Able to lift and move items such as tables, chairs, boxes, and supplies
● Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
● Strong teamwork and communication skills
● Comfortable interacting with guests and learning about wine
● Able to work efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized environment
● Willing to assist with a variety of tasks throughout the day
● Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events
● Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
