Construction Laborer - Crew Member | Sports Construction

About the Position

HiLine Sports Construction is looking for dependable Crew Members to help build athletic facilities at schools, parks, colleges and sports complexes throughout the Southeast.

Our crews install netting systems, backstops, scoreboards, batting cages, football goal posts, shade structures and other specialty sports equipment.

This is construction work. Some days you may be installing specialized athletic equipment. Other days you may be digging holes, unloading steel, pouring concrete, operating equipment or working outside in difficult weather.

Every project is different, and we are willing to train the right person.

Construction experience is helpful, but it is not our most important requirement.

We are looking for people we can count on.

Responsibilities

• Install athletic facility equipment including netting systems, backstops, scoreboards, batting cages, goal posts, shade structures and related sports infrastructure.
• Load, unload and organize materials, tools and equipment.
• Assist with site layout, excavation, digging, concrete work, steel installation, rigging and final assembly.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Operate lifts, skid steers and other construction equipment as trained and authorized.
• Read and follow project plans, installation drawings and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe job site.
• Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast, including overnight stays when required.
• Work as part of a small crew to complete projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Help with general construction work and other project needs as required.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able and willing to travel throughout the Southeast for multi day projects.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work.
• Comfortable working at heights from aerial lifts, ladders and scaffolding.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and accept coaching.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to pass required pre employment screening when applicable.

Construction, steel erection, fencing, playground installation, equipment operation or related trade experience is preferred, but not required.

Pay and Growth

Starting pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Employees can earn additional pay as they develop useful field skills and complete company approved equipment training and certifications, including aerial lift and skid steer operation.

HiLine is growing, and dependable employees who demonstrate leadership and technical ability can advance into positions such as Lead Installer, Foreman and Superintendent.

You do need to show up, work hard, communicate and be willing to learn.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
