What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Foreman — HiLine Sports Construction position at HiLine Sports Construction?
Pay: $27–$30/hour, based on experience
About Us
HiLine Sports Construction installs athletic facility equipment, netting systems, backstops, batting cages, scoreboards, goal posts, shade structures, and structural steel, at schools, parks, colleges, and sports complexes across the Southeast.
We’re a small, family-run company where everyone stays hands-on, leadership included. We take character seriously. Honesty, effort, reliability, and doing right by the people you work with matter just as much as production.
We’re looking for a Foreman who leads from inside the crew, not from the sidelines. You work alongside your team, set the pace, and stay in the work while you direct it. If you’re looking for a job where you mostly point and delegate, this isn’t it.
This is outdoor, physical work in all weather. You’re expected to be in it, not just managing it.
Travel
Multi-day travel throughout the Southeast is part of the job. You’re home Friday evening through Saturday, every week. Some mobilizations may require Sunday travel to reach the next site.
What you’ll do
- Perform installation work while leading the crew, layout, excavation, concrete, steel, rigging, equipment install, and final assembly.
- Plan the day before the crew starts moving: manpower, materials, sequence.
- Operate and oversee skid steers, aerial lifts, and other equipment.
- Teach less experienced crew members in the field, not in a classroom.
- Spot problems early and communicate them before they become delays.
- Own the job site from setup through completion.
- Read construction drawings, understand dimensions and layout, and turn plans into an executable field plan.
- Hold the crew accountable for safety, workmanship, productivity, and taking care of company equipment.
What we need from you
You should see what needs to happen next and do it. We’re not looking for someone who waits to be told.
That means:
- Strong general construction experience and real field leadership, not just a title.
- The judgment to plan ahead and the hands to execute.
- Willingness to learn our specialty systems. Sports construction experience is a plus, not required.
- Showing up on time, prepared, ready to work.
Growth
We support certifications and training as you grow with us. This is a hands-on company at every level.
What success looks like
You know what needs to happen next, keep the crew moving, communicate problems early, and take ownership of the job from setup through completion.
