Hildebran Medical Clinic is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing family medicine practice. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional patient care, works well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being part of a close-knit healthcare team. This position involves both direct patient care and administrative responsibilities to support our providers and ensure an outstanding patient experience.

Essential Responsibilities Clinical Duties

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for evaluation.
  • Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare examination rooms and maintain adequate medical supplies.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as permitted by certification and state regulations.
  • Perform EKGs, vision testing, and other office procedures.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing.
  • Sterilize and maintain medical instruments according to infection control standards.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
  • Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
  • Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

Administrative Duties

  • Answer patient telephone calls professionally and accurately document messages.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, imaging, and procedures.
  • Complete insurance forms and other clinical documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings.

QualificationsRequired

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent nationally recognized certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Preferred

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or family medicine setting.
  • Experience with electronic health records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
