Essential Job Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of Industrial Automation/SCADA architecture design including control, measurement and safety systems for oil and gas production facilities.
- Work with field Instrumentation and Electrical Team assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance where required.
- Design and manage control system and SCADA related projects.
- Keep abreast of new Automation/SCADA related developments and technology in areas such as equipment, software, governmental regulations, PCN cybersecurity, and communications.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC based control systems including Allen-Bradley (PLC 5, SLC, Control Logix), GE and Modicon.
- Design, Program, and Troubleshoot HMI/DCS applications to include graphical design, scripting, and database queries on platforms including Wonderware, GE iFIX and Honeywell Experion.
- Set up and maintain process control networks using Ethernet, DeviceNet, Modbus, ControlNet and other Automation specific protocols.
- Read, understand, and troubleshoot electrical prints and P&IDs.
- Document Automation/SCADA systems per established procedures.
- Mentor and help train junior level personnel through training and review of their work plans and system installs.
- Coordinate and participate in the design, development and administration of standards and documentation relating to automation systems.
- Enforce adherence to corporate Automation/SCADA standards.

- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Ten (10) years minimum Automation/SCADA experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work a 12 hour per day, 14/14 day rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the company.
- Strong ability in diagnosing and solving I&E/Automation/SCADA related problems while maintaining patience, professionalism, and courtesy.
- Understanding of Automation/SCADA system setup and maintenance with regard to administration, programming, database administration, telemetry, and RTU input management understanding of the technology related to SCADA design and maintenance of a SCADA system.
- Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Solid understanding of desktop computers, networking, printers, and general office applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex computer/information systems information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Required: Honeywell Experion, iFIX, Wonderware or other HMI Software. Preferred: iFIX

- Preferred: Associates Degree or certificate of completion from a 2-year technical school that is accredited or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
