The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Benefits Compliance Lead to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Greer, SC, or Tampa, FL office with flexibility for remote work. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
Advise employer plan sponsors on health and welfare plan compliance including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA
Stay well informed on the compliance challenges our clients are dealing with both on a federal level and state level
Conduct client-facing compliance audits and take lead on meetings with client to discuss results of audit
Provide ongoing training and support to internal account management teams on compliance topics and client communication
Draft and revise health and welfare plan documents
Respond to substantive compliance-related client questions and requests
Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years’ experience in ERISA and Employee Benefits compliance, ideally in a brokerage or consulting setting
College degree required
JD preferred, but not required
Demonstrated understanding of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, and other relevant laws and regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong presentation skills.
Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex laws to team members and clients in a way that is easily understood
Ability to consult clients on complex compliance issues
High level of organizational ability
Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment
High degree of self-discipline and motivation
Professional demeanor
Ability to function a true team-oriented environment
Ability to fulfill all job requirements as outlined above, during, and outside of usual business hours, and to do normal travel to carry out sales/servicing responsibilities
