JOB DESCRIPTION

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK – PLANT OPERATIONS

The Accounts Payable Clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

The majority of the Accounts Payable Clerk's job will include processing, data entry, scanning and filing of invoices, and analysis of financial information.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, proficient with and enjoy detail work, and be able to work without direct supervision. It is imperative that he or she can work well with numbers and be proficient with and enjoy detailed work. The key responsibilities are:

• Create and process purchase orders for plant materials, supplies, and services.
• Obtain quotes and coordinate with vendors to secure cost-effective purchasing solutions.
• Reconcile products between locations
• Third party liaison for the plant with our customers
• Plant audit preparation
• Maintain accurate accounting and purchasing records.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues.
• Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and accounting procedures.
• Generate reports on purchasing expenditures and accounts payable activities.

He or she will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data.

Required qualifications:

• Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proficiency with a ten-key calculator
• Previous experience with data entry
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work well with numbers

The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:

• Proficiency in typing
• Previous experience
• Previous experience using database applications
• Manipulating/creating Excel spreadsheets

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Some overtime may be required

Particular jobs may require differing hours or Saturday work.
