Duties
- Lead engaging outdoor adventures for dogs, ensuring they are active, happy, and well-supervised throughout each session
- Safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments, utilizing animal restraint techniques when necessary
- Assist with basic dog training exercises to promote good behavior during outings
- Monitor dog behavior continuously, intervening promptly to prevent conflicts or injuries
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by inspecting equipment and outdoor areas before and after activities
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog’s experience, progress, and any concerns
- Support team members with pet sitting duties, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications if needed
Skills
- Proven experience in dog training or handling, with a strong understanding of canine behavior
- Veterinary experience such as veterinary technician or assistant background is highly desirable
- Skilled in animal handling, restraint, and pet care practices to ensure safety at all times
- Familiarity with pet grooming, pet sitting, and kennel procedures enhances your ability to care for dogs comprehensively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist with equipment or large dogs
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners and team members
- Knowledge of animal care standards across different species such as equine or small animals is a plus
