What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Coordinator position at HIghway Equipment & Supply Co.?
Highway Equipment & Supply Co. is a family owned and operated Construction Equipment business that is looking for a Service Coordinator for our Drums location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the day-to-day administrative operations of the service department
- Answering and directing incoming phone calls including technical questions from customers
- Processing work orders and assigning customer work to technicians
- Resolving all open repair issues to conclusions for customers and technicians
- Obtaining best sublet vendor pricing for all outside parts/labor
- Maintaining daily times from the field service technicians
- Following up on back-ordered parts
- Initiating and providing a timely response to customer requests before, during, and after job completion
- Reviewing additional repairs needed with customers as a result of machine inspections and selling additional parts and labor when applicable
- Scheduling field service repairs/maintenance and maintaining records
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficient with general Microsoft systems and applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- General computer proficiency
- Heavy-equipment industry knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experienced in customer service
PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Professional phone, email, and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to assist customers with general questions or coordinate customer concerns with technicians
- Works well in a fast-paced, demanding team environment, with all levels of the company, and with all types of customers
WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one hour unpaid lunch
- Some overtime possible requiring the ability to occasionally work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
