Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning windows and resident rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness in bathrooms, dining room and common areas
- Carry out floor care duties such as buffing and waxing as needed
- Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established protocols
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and report any significant issues to management
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly
- Provide porter services as required, assisting with the movement of furniture or equipment
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred
- Experience in floor care techniques including buffing and waxing is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Basic maintenance skills are beneficial for this role
- Assistance in the kitchen for some cleaning and bringing meals to the dining room
