Lead: Community-Based Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay Rate: Starting at $20/hour
Earn an additional $1/hour for each Direct Support Professional (DSP) certificate you hold, up to $22/hour
Schedule:
- Approximately 35 hours per week (schedule may vary)
- General schedule 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM
- Flexibility is a must!
About the Role:
We are seeking creative, energetic, and self-motivated individuals to join our community-based day program team. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing engaging, meaningful experiences entirely within the community. There is no central location—our program is always on the go, rain or shine!
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and participate in fun, engaging community activities (parks, libraries, volunteer sites, and more)
- Support staff, and manage daily operations
- Ensure staff compliance reports are complete
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals, including daily living skills, social development, and community integration
- Assist with transportation using company vehicles
- Provide support with personal care tasks when needed
- Encourage healthy habits through physical activities—be ready to be on your feet!
- Safely push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs
- Adapt activities to fit all weather conditions
Who You Are:
- Creative and able to take initiative without constant direction
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and environments
- Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for extended periods
- Strong communicator with a passion for helping others live their best lives
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old (to qualify for company auto insurance)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of leadership expereince in related field
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
