Speech Pathologist-Acute PRN-7457-11992
Description
Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
Reports to : Director - Rehab Services or Director - IRU
Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family. Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Plans and / or assists with patient discharge from therapy services. Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Master's degree in Speech Pathology - Required Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Skills
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 30 days of hire, if not current upon hire. Required Skills
Licenses : Tennessee licensure in Speech Pathology - Required
Speech Pathology Clinical Fellows accepted, must obtain Tennessee license, as soon as possible,once Fellowship program is complete.
