Our experienced team members are cross-trained to support one another, share responsibilities and provide coverage when needed. How you’ll contribute
A Data Analyst who excels in this role:
Reviews and processes inpatient discharge records to ensure appropriate documentation is maintained within the electronic medical record.
Sorts and organizes inpatient medical record documentation in preparation for scanning.
Identifies appropriate documentation and accurately scans records into the Meditech electronic medical record system.
Reviews documentation for completeness and proper placement within the patient record.
Maintains accuracy, organization and confidentiality when handling protected health information.
Assists with incoming department phone calls and provides courteous assistance or routes calls as appropriate.
Participates in the department's rotating “fax day,” reviewing and appropriately processing incoming fax requests and documentation, along with completing your daily job responsibilities.
Assists patients, visitors and other walk-in customers presenting to the Health Information Management department.
Communicates effectively with HIM team members and other hospital departments regarding medical record needs.
Works collaboratively within a cross-trained HIM team, providing coverage and assistance in other areas as needed.
Maintains HIPAA standards and protects the confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Performs other HIM-related duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, required. Additional requirements include:
Basic computer proficiency required; ability to learn electronic medical record systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately organize and process medical record documentation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently following training while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Ability to manage repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
Previous healthcare, hospital, medical records or HIM experience preferred, but not required.
Previous experience with Meditech or an electronic medical record system is a plus.
Familiarity with healthcare documentation and medical records is a plus.
Schedule: Full-Time - Monday–Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm On-site
