Job Summary:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Shipyard Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will assist with the construction, repair, maintenance, and general labor tasks involved in shipyard operations. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-conscious, and thrives in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.
- Support welders, pipefitters, electricians, and other skilled tradespeople with general labor.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Dispose of waste materials properly and maintain a clean job site.
- Perform inspections and basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Assist in the moving and securing of vessels and floating equipment.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipyard, construction, or industrial setting is a plus.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment commonly used in shipyard work.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physically able to stand, lift, carry, and perform manual labor in outdoor conditions.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Exposure to all weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting of 50 lbs or more.
- Standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
- Working in tight or elevated spaces.
- May require overtime and weekend work depending on project needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
