What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter position at Highmark Marine Fabrication?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces. Must be able to pass DOT physical. Must be able to lift 100 Lbs. Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
- Mix and apply paints, coatings, primers, and sealants according to specifications
- Operate spray guns, brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment
- Maintain proper thickness, texture, and even coating applications
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, tools, and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
- Follow safety protocols including the use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of industrial painting experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Physically fit and able to stand, bend, lift, and work in various environments
- OSHA certification or safety training (a plus)
Work Environment:
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying conditions including heat, cold, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Must be able to wear respirators or other safety gear as required.
