Overview
Join our fun veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. We are a mobile veterinary surgery practice that serves the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota with orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Our small team works closely together to ensure a positive experience for patients, clients, and the general practices that we work with. This unique role involves traveling with our team to many veterinary clinics around the twin cities and surrounding areas while assisting our veterinary surgeon. Your role will be in surgical preparation of patients, set-up and maintenance of surgical equipment, occasional direct assistance in surgery, and communication with owners and partner veterinary clinics.
Duties
- Clean, pack and sterilize surgical equiptment.
- Surgery equipment set up and take down at each location
- Patient preparation for surgery
- Communication via phone and email with veterinary staff and client, assistance with scheduling
- Occasional assistance with surgical procedures
- Ability to lift 30 lbs (equipment and patients)
Experience
- Prior experience in veterinary medicine with companion animals is desired
- Basic knowledge of surgery patient preparation and instrument preparation (cleaning & surgical pack preparation)
- Demonstrated knowledge of animal anatomy and common veterinary terminology
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and partner veterinary staff
- Strong emphasis placed on a positive work ethic, willingness to learn new things, and work with new people every day
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
