2026-2027 ratesLevel 16: $30.49-$33.59/hourly Level 19: $34.14-$37.63/hourly Start Date: ASAP PROFILE: The Student Support Specialist/Bilingual Paraeducator position at Highline High School provides language and student support services for learners participating in MTSS Check & Connect and re-engagement efforts. Working directly with students and families, this position supports student engagement and success by providing interpretation, facilitating communication related to discipline and student support needs, and helping families navigate school resources. The role facilitates restorative and re-engagement meetings for Spanish-speaking students and families to strengthen school connections and address barriers to student success. Additionally, the position supports after-school programming, including the ML Homework Club, to promote academic achievement, engagement, and positive student outcomes. Candidates with experience working with adolescents and the ability to effectively use data to identify needs, track progress, and support student outcomes are strongly preferred. STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST SUMMARY: The Student Support Specialist is a student-support role, providing Tiered student supports within the school's MTSS System. The primary purpose of this position is to provide students with on-going positive supports, as determined by a Student Support Team, to stay in school while encouraging, resourcing and assisting pathway to completion of high school graduation requirements and diploma. BILINGUAL PARAEDUCATOR SUMMARY: Provides individual and group academic tutoring support to ELL qualified students in their native language. The position collaborates with teachers on meeting individual students' English development needs. The Bilingual paraeducator serves as a liaison between the school and students' family. He/she provides interpretation services for non-English speaking families and school staff. This position works with schools and families to develop a welcoming climate in the schools.
