Summary: We are looking for a candidate that is positive, self-motivated, detailed oriented, and can lead a quality staff. This is a unique opportunity to join our the Highlands Ventures LLC. team located in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. The Grounds Maintenance position maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property. The Grounds Maintenance Staff Member performs general grounds maintenance such as mowing, weed eating, mulching, weed management, planting and caring for flowers and shrubs and other tasks as assigned by manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Cleans, repairs, touches-up or replaces all fixtures and appliances used in the daily operations.
- Answers incoming calls and responds accordingly.
- Shovels/salts sidewalks, walking paths and stairs as directed.
- Assists Manager and other departments as directed.
- Ensures work areas are kept clean and conform to safety and health regulations.
- Other duties may be assigned by immediate supervisors and/or director as needed.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of inventory software.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools after training.
- Ability to shovel snow during winter ski season.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice.
