Highlands Oncology began in 1996 with three physicians and a desire to change the face of oncology care in our community. Dr. Malcolm Hayward, Dr. Dan Bradford, and Dr. Thad Beck knew that patients do better at home, in the community where they live and work, and where their support system is already in place. In furthering that goal, Highlands has grown with the region from a single location 26 years ago, to 6 locations in Northwest and Northcentral Arkansas today employing more than 800 diverse team members.

Job Summary: Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients with a cancer diagnosis, who may be undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery, and may have special nutrition needs, such as feeding tubes.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients at Highlands Oncology.
- Provide diet consultation, nutrition assessment, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation of adult patients.
- Instruct and counsel patients and family members on normal nutrition and/or therapeutic diets with consideration to their education, readiness to learn, cultural, and socio-economic background. All education sessions will be documented in the medical record.
- Work in conjunction with referring providers and coordination of care.
- Develop patient education such as handouts, recipes, videos, and other resources.
- Assist in the development of additional support programs designed to meet specialized nutrition needs for patient populations, such as those with feeding tubes, breast cancer, and / or other topics as needed.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (oncologists, nurses, social workers, pharmacists) to ensure coordinated care.
