Job Title: Radiologic Technologist/ CT Technologist
Reports To: Imaging Director / Imaging Manager / Imaging Supervisor
Location: Northwest or North-Central Arkansas – depending on the position, employees may be asked to move locations from time to time based on clinic and patient needs.
FLSA: Non-Exempt / Hourly
Job Summary: Operates X-ray / CT equipment to obtain clinical diagnostic images as directed by an ordering physician.
Specific XRAY duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reviews and evaluates x-ray to determine whether images are satisfactory or not for diagnostic purposes.
- Positions imaging equipment and adjusts controls to configure exposure distance and time, according to the specified examination.
- Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Effectively communicates with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and radiologists.
- Understands X-ray Principles.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Specific CT duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs diagnostic CT procedures to include injection of Iodinated IV contrast, the administration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction, network image transfer, and archiving of image data.
- Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Under guidance and approval of Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.
- Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of Iodinated IV Contrast, be able to recognize possible reactions, and know the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
- Effectively communicates with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and radiologists.
- Understands CT Principles.
- Follows guidelines of ALARA without compromising quality of scans.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
