Highlands School is seeking a Building Substitute Teacher for a one-year only position during the [2025–2026] school year. The Building Substitute will be an integral member of the school community, supporting instruction and student learning each day. This role is designed to provide meaningful educational services rather than serve as a general supervisory position. This person will report to Highlands School five days per week.
Responsibilities:

Substitute teach for teachers who are absent.

Provide instructional support and teach lessons across grade levels and content areas, as assigned.

Maintain an engaging and effective learning environment for all students.

Adapt to a variety of classroom needs, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of regular teachers.

Fulfill responsibilities assigned by school administration, based on the day-to-day needs of the building.

Collaborate with staff to support both academic and social-emotional growth of students.

Utilize resources and receive ongoing support from administration and colleagues.
Qualifications:

Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience strongly encouraged.
