Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments accurately using state of the art practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring optimal provider utilization.
- Verify insurance coverage and follow referral procedures to ensure smooth billing.
- Manage appointment changes, cancellations, and follow-up scheduling to accommodate patient needs and clinic availability.
- Maintain detailed documentation review of patient records, care plans, and medical histories to support clinical workflows.
- Assist with intake procedures by collecting necessary medical information and updating patient records in various EHR systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and clear communication.
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate appointment times, prioritize urgent cases, and optimize clinic schedules.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all scheduling activities.
- Participate in group tasks to communicate with patients electronically.
- Proficiency in EHR systems similar platforms for scheduling and documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relating to Dermatology.
- Experience with insurance verification processes and familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence and professional phone etiquette.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is preferred.
Pay: $16.50 - $22.00 per hour
