Forklift Operator/Warehouse

Highland Wholesale Foods, Inc. - Warehouse forklift position responsible for operating a forklift, selecting the correct products from the warehouse, execute First in First out ( FIFO), Palatalizing product as it is selected to build customer orders.

This position requires working Monday - Friday ( 7:00am to 3:30pm ) until all products are accurately selected and loaded. Hours subject to change based on business needs.

An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

* Meet or exceed minimum efficiency levels established through an engineered production standard. Requires working rapidly at a contestant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.

* Meet or exceed established cases per shift goals.

* Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities:

* Stack product on pallets in accordance with proper selecting procedures ( for example, no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc. )

* Operate an electric electric pallet jack or forklift to transport product.

* Stage orders in the same format as your outbound trucks requests.

* Shrink wrap product properly. ( Never wrap pallets together )

* Follows HWF, Inc. preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.

* Follow and Respect or GMP Guidelines ( Good Manufacturing Practices) at all times.

* Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, and personal protective equipment. Preform pre and post-trip inspection, and safely operate all mechanical equipment.

* Frequently lift product that weighs 1 to 50lbs; frequently reach up to 72 inches; consistently bend and twist while operating a pallet jack and or forklift, retrieving items from lower shelf areas.

* Attend all required company meetings.

* Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

18 years of age

* Able to read, write, and communicate efficiently, as it relates to the job and to the safety relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

* High School diploma or General education development ( GED ) or equivalent.

* 3 months warehouse experience

* 3 months experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.

* Basic computer knowledge.

Professional skills:

* Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift in a fast paced environment.

* Able to meet or exceed established cases per error goals.

* Develop a good working knowledge or product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.

* Able to read, write, and communicate efficiently as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
