About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Stockton, CA. The Financial Controller will oversee financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements, monitoring budgets, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Daily tasks include managing financial reporting, supervising accounting staff, and providing insights to drive strategic financial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Accounting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or local standards. Maintain the general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor progress, and provide detailed variance analysis.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain internal control systems to protect assets, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and tax regulations.
- Cash Flow & Treasury: Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and forecasting.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and manage accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and prepare necessary documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is usually required.
- Experience: 10–15 years of related experience, with 4 years in a management role.
