Job Overview

We are seeking a candidate who is willing to take over as the full-time, responsible veterinarian for our practice. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated veterinarian who is committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate(s) will have a DVM or equivalent degree and be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland. We welcome both experienced veterinarians and newer graduates who are eager to learn and grow with supportive mentorship. Strong communication skills, a collaborative team approach, sound medical judgment, and a genuine desire to build lasting relationships with clients, patients, and colleagues are essential. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who values practicing good medicine, enjoys working as part of a team, and wants to be part of a positive, supportive hospital culture.

• Preventative Care: Perform routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and parasite prevention plans.
• Sick Visits: Ability to diagnose and treat common ailments such as ear infections, skin issues, and arthritis.
• Internal Medicine: Diagnose and manage chronic conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, Addisons, Cushing's, thyroid issues and allergies.
• Client Relations: Build long-term bonds with local families through empathetic communication.

We're looking for someone who values relationships—with clients, patients, and teammates—and believes that great medicine starts with having the time and support to do it well.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in animals using clinical ethical guidelines.
• Perform veterinary surgeries, including general anesthesia, spay/neuters, and dental cleanings. (surgical experience is desired, not required)
• Develop treatment plans using recommended medications and approved modern protocols.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and ongoing animal care needs while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory results, animal physiology data, and surgical procedures to ensure compliance with veterinary standards.

Skills

• Experience and proficiency in the care of cats and dogs. Surgical experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology.
• Ability to handle dogs and cats confidently through handling skills and pet care practices while demonstrating professional ethics.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine and laboratory experience for diagnostic purposes.
• Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on health management plans and preventive care strategies.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
