Veterinary Assistant & Client Service Coordinator

Pay: $17–$18/hour to start, based on experience

Highland Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dependable, compassionate team member to join our family-oriented veterinary practice in a unique hybrid role supporting both our patient care and client service teams.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in helping a clinic run smoothly.

Schedule

Consistent four-day weekday schedule with one weekend rotation per month. Additional hours may become available as our practice continues to grow.

• Monday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• One weekend rotation per month for patient care and medical boarding support

About the Role

On any given day you may:

• Welcome clients and patients
• Answer phones and assist with scheduling
• Support exam room flow
• Assist with patient restraint and handling
• Prepare basic laboratory samples
• Help maintain treatment and exam areas
• Assist with medical boarding and hospitalized patient care
• Support doctors, veterinary nurses, assistants, and client service staff as needed
• Help ensure the clinic is cleaned, stocked, and ready for the next day

Preferred Qualifications

Veterinary experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate. We are happy to train someone who brings strong work ethic, compassion, reliability, and a desire to learn.

• Veterinary assistant experience
• Veterinary reception or customer service experience
• Animal handling experience
• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or other service-oriented professions
