Russian Translator

Job Title: Russian/Ukranian Translator/Interpreter

Job Summary: Interprets written and spoken material from English into Russian or Ukranian (and vice versa), ensures meaning and context are maintained, possesses fluency in the English, Russian and Ukranian languages.

This position requires working on site in Westfield, MA 2-3 times weekly. This position cannot be done remotely.

Requirements:

· High School diploma required; Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred

· An approved CORI

· Fluency in English, Russian and Ukranian Languages

· Written and Verbal Communication skills

· Understanding of Grammar to show meaning and context

· Excellent Interpersonal Communication skills

· Accuracy

· Attention to Detail

· Software Proficiency – Microsoft Word

· Self-motivation

· 12 hour maximum work week that includes on-site office hours at 16 Washington Street, Westfield MA (minimum of two 4-hour blocks of time per week during regularly scheduled business hours) and event/activity hours.

A. Duties and Responsibilities

· Reads through or listens to material in one language, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and converts it into a second language, making sure to preserve the original meaning.

· Refers to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation if necessary

· Follows up with individuals to ensure satisfaction and understanding

· Adheres to industry quality standards established by the Association of Translation Companies to ensure that all completed work follows legal and ethical obligations

· Translates a variety of documents

· Participates in events and activities where translation services are necessary

· Translates for individuals whose goal is improved access to agency services

· Keeps detailed records of who was served, how time was spent and what was discussed

· Collaborates directly with Home Care Resource Specialists and other staff.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour
