Seeking Licensed Property Manager

About Us

Highland Property Management is a locally owned company serving the greater Triangle area. We’re a small, tight-knit team that values communication, accountability, high standards, and people who take ownership of their work.

We move quickly, solve problems directly, and care about creating a great experience for both our owners and residents. We genuinely enjoy what we do, take pride in doing it well, and support each other along the way.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Licensed Property Manager who can confidently step in, manage properties independently, and help build and grow our business.

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who already knows what they’re doing, can make sound decisions, solve problems, and take ownership without needing constant direction.

We also need someone who is hungry to build.

You will receive qualified property management leads, but we expect you to do something with them. Following up, building relationships, earning trust, and converting opportunities into new management contracts are an important part of the role.

You’ll have the opportunity to build your own book of business within Highland. The person who puts in the effort, builds relationships, and creates results will have the opportunity to grow with the company.

We believe you get back what you put in.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of properties under management
  • Communicate with owners, tenants, and vendors professionally and promptly
  • Oversee leasing, renewals, inspections, and maintenance coordination
  • Troubleshoot problems and take ownership of solutions
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with North Carolina landlord-tenant laws
  • Follow up with qualified property management leads
  • Build relationships with property owners, investors, real estate professionals, and referral sources
  • Market Highland’s property management services and identify opportunities to bring new properties into management
  • Build and maintain strong owner relationships
  • Grow your book of business and contribute to the growth of Highland
  • Use property management software, with AppFolio preferred, to stay organized and efficient

What We’re Looking For

  • Active North Carolina Real Estate Broker License required
  • Proven experience managing single-family and/or small multi-family properties
  • Ability to independently manage properties, make sound decisions, and take ownership of the client relationship
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working without constant direction
  • Someone who is genuinely motivated to build a book of business
  • Comfortable with sales, networking, follow-up, and business development
  • Experience with AppFolio or similar software preferred
  • Reliable vehicle for local travel

Please note: This position is dedicated exclusively to property management and does not include buying or selling real estate.

What You’ll Get

  • Qualified property management leads
  • The opportunity to build and grow your own book of business
  • Flexibility and autonomy in your day-to-day work
  • A supportive, down-to-earth, no-drama team environment
  • A team that values high performance and accountability
  • Compensation tied to performance and properties acquired
  • Real opportunity for growth as Highland expands

The Bottom Line

We’re looking for someone who already knows how to manage property and wants to build something.

You may start with a small number of properties, but we want someone who is motivated to turn that into a growing book of business.

If you’re experienced, hungry, and ready to take ownership of both your work and your growth, we’d love to hear from you.
