Duties

• Greet patients warmly, conduct intake procedures, and accurately record medical histories using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Practice Fusion.
• Prepare examination rooms following aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met.
• Assist the optometrist during eye exams by handing instruments, managing patient flow, and documenting findings with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Manage medical records diligently, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while updating patient charts and billing information.
• Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling retail sales of eyewear products with retail math proficiency.
• Assist patients with frame selection and lens design.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control protocols and supporting inventory management of optical supplies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry clinics.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and clinic procedures.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including pediatrics.
• Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and follow aseptic techniques diligently.
• Experience in retail sales or retail math is a plus for managing eyewear product transactions.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
