- Provide expert guidance on medical nutrition therapy, including tube feeding management and dietary modifications for various conditions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition interventions into overall patient care, especially in acute care, geriatrics, and long-term care settings.
- Offer health coaching to motivate and educate patients on weight management, dietary habits, and lifestyle changes.
- Supervise and mentor dietary staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards within the department.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document assessments, care plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition status and adjust plans accordingly for optimal patient outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital or healthcare facility settings with a focus on acute care, geriatrics, or long-term care environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and metabolism.
- Supervising experience in dietary departments or clinical settings is highly desirable.
- Strong background in dietetics principles, including managing tube feeding protocols and developing comprehensive care plans.
- Familiarity with EMR systems used in healthcare for documentation and patient tracking.
