Highland Manor of Mesquite is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Social Services Assistant to support our Licensed Social Services Director. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the department operates efficiently by assisting with administrative responsibilities, resident assessments, scheduling, documentation, and care coordination.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Licensed Social Services Director with the daily operations of the Social Services Department.
- Coordinate schedules for care conferences, resident meetings, appointments, and department activities.
- Prepare documentation and maintain accurate records within the electronic medical record.
- Assist with completion of assigned resident assessments in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.
- Monitor due dates for assessments, care conferences, and required documentation.
- Prepare admission, transfer, and discharge paperwork as assigned.
- Assist with resident interviews and follow-up visits.
- Communicate with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate services.
- Maintain department files, tracking logs, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with audits, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance activities.
- Answer department phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide administrative support.
- Promote resident rights, dignity, and quality of life.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Licensed Social Services Director.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or healthcare-related education preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, case management, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy.
- Professional, compassionate, and resident-focused demeanor.
