What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide FT position at Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center?
Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dynamic and caring individual for a Full and Part Time positios within the Activities Department. Experience is a plus. Individual must be willing to work every other weekend / holiday.
This position requires tact, sensitivity and professionalism due to constant interaction with residents and families.
Position duties include:
- Establish rapport with Alzheimer's/Dementia care residents and their families
- Develop approaches/interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of residents
- Collaborate with Activity Director to develop and run programming ideas for residents
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with residents having dementia and appropriate therapeutic/behavioral interventions
- Must be able to work with a team
- Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect
- Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, creativity, patience and energy
Job Type: Full Time / Part-Time
Required experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year experience in pediatrics and/or geriatrics recreation
- Be able to facilitate group programs independently
- Positive attitude and energy
- Strong communication, interpersonal and written/reading skills
- Valid driver's license
