The Highland Local School District has an opening for one (1) School Psychologist beginning August 1, 2026. This position is  194  days per year. In addition to the school year (184 days) this position includes 10 extended days for summer evaluations. This position will be responsible for 504 evaluations and other screenings and evaluations as assigned. CERTIFICATION:  Professional Pupil Services License: School Psychologist (270700) QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Appropriate school psychologist license required. 2. Strong undergraduate grade point average – (preferable above 3.0/B average) from the institution(s) granting the bachelor's diploma and master's degree. 3. Successful documented performance as a school psychologist or a pre-service intern counselor psychologist. 4. Proficiency with conducting multi-factored and intervention-based assessments. 5. Makes effective use of technology to collect, evaluate, and report data. 6. Has background and experience to effectively communicate and facilitate discussions     between students, parents, and staff. 7. Uses research-supported approaches to counseling individual students and facilitating small     groups. 8. Knows and follows legal requirements for confidentiality, reporting, and instruction. 9. Evaluate services through input from parents, students, and staff. 10. Maintain a case load appropriate to the assignment; manage cases and other assigned responsibilities       and maintains required school psychology files. 11. Willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration to improve instruction and analyze student progress. 12. Possesses the knowledge, capabilities, and dispositions to develop as a reflective practitioner and continuous learner. 14. Demonstrates competence and knowledge of mental health referral pathways; multi-tiered       systems of support; interventions for significant, mild, or emerging mental health needs. 15.  Capable of functioning as a resource for crisis intervention.  16.  Follows ethical and professional practice standards and guidelines as defined by professional         organizations such as NASP, OSPA, and APA. 17.  Summarize and interpret evaluation results and recommendations in written and oral form in practical and understandable terms. 18.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services. SALARY: The person selected to fill this position will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary schedule  contained in the negotiated agreement between the HEA and the Highland Board of Education.
