Highland Haven Dog Training is a boutique, family-owned dog training and boarding business in Putnam Valley. We provide individualized care to a small number of dogs—not a large commercial kennel. Our mission is to create a safe, enriching environment where every dog receives exceptional care and attention.
We're looking for dependable, compassionate people to join our team. Applicants are welcome to apply for one shift, multiple shifts, or all available shifts.

Applicants interested in working multiple shifts are encouraged to apply. We offer a consistent weekly schedule with guaranteed hours.
Pay
- Starting Pay: $20.00/hour
- Guaranteed increase to $22.00/hour after successfully completing a 90-day probationary period
- Additional opportunities for raises based on performance and longevity
Responsibilities
As a Canine Care Specialist, you'll play an important role in the daily care and well-being of our boarding and training dogs.
Responsibilities include:
- Feeding and caring for boarding and training dogs
- Safely taking dogs outside for exercise and bathroom breaks
- Cleaning kennels, yards, and common areas
- Laundry, dishes, and general housekeeping
- Monitoring each dog's health, appetite, and behavior
- Assisting with enrichment activities and basic handling
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
While there are quieter moments during each shift, we take pride in keeping our facility spotless and ensuring every dog receives excellent care.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently
- Calm, patient, and compassionate with dogs
- Physically able to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
- Detail-oriented and observant
- Comfortable working weekends
Previous kennel or veterinary experience is a plus, but dependability, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love of dogs are more important than experience. We can teach the skills—we can't teach reliability.
