Duties
- Vigilantly monitor pool areas to enforce safety rules and prevent accidents
- Respond promptly and effectively to water emergencies, including rescues and medical incidents
- Perform routine pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, skimming debris, and checking chemical levels to ensure optimal water quality
- Provide exceptional services by assisting swimmers, answering questions, and promoting water safety awareness
- Maintain accurate incident reports, shift logs, and safety documentation
- Assist with general facility upkeep including pool cleaning and ensuring all safety equipment is in proper working order
Requirements
- Valid lifeguard certification with current First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and Basic Life Support training
- Proven lifeguard experience with knowledge of water rescue response techniques
- Ability to swim confidently and perform water rescues under pressure
- Experience working with children and providing water safety instruction is highly desirable
- Knowledge of public safety procedures, aquatic facility operations, and emergency response protocols for medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, pool cleaning, and maintenance tasks throughout shifts
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
