Preschool Teacher / Early Childhood Educator (Full-Time)
Location: Dickinson, TX
Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay: $11–$15 per hour (based on experience, education and credentials)
Highland Forest Daycare and Early Learning Center is a nature-inspired preschool and childcare center located in Dickinson, Texas. We are currently hiring as Assistant Teacher to work with children in a structured, supportive early childhood classroom.
Preschool Assistant Teacher Job Description
The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality early childhood education, classroom management, and daily care in a licensed daycare and preschool setting. This role supports children’s social-emotional development, school readiness, and early learning skills through hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, nurturing, and attentive care
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
- Follow the daily classroom schedule
- Support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Assist with toilet training
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized learning environment
- Communicate with parents and families regarding progress
- Follow all Texas childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
- Collaborate with directors and teaching staff as part of a team
Required Qualifications
- MUST be 18 years or older
- MUST pass a criminal background check
- MUST have a high school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of childcare, preschool teaching experience, church daycare, before/aftercare etc.
- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and stand throughout the day
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
- Experience using Frog Street Curriculum
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
