Field Specialist - Claim Specialist

To conduct review visits to observe meal preparation, service, documentation,

sanitation and safety practices to ensure that all participants are operating

correctly and effectively. Training Provided. Mileage also reimbursed at the current federal rate, separate from hourly wage.

Duties and Responsibilities

● Performs all duties and responsibilities expected of a Claims Specialist (Training Provided)

● Understands and interprets federal, state, and local regulations in order to

implement practices that meet and exceed compliance requirements

● Enforces policies and procedures to foster accurate meal service for

compliance

● Monitors appropriate implementation of meal planning, food purchasing,

and meal management that meets CCFP meal patterns

● Verifies and updates accuracy of site forms as needed

● Conducts site reviews to observe meal preparation and the complete meal

service to assess the center’s sanitation and safety practices and to ensure

that all meal components are served in proper quantities according to the

Meal Pattern for Children and Infants

● Serves as a customer service role model to ensure a positive relationship in

interactions with all employees and child care providers; giving technical

assistance on an ongoing basis

● Effectively reports to the Field Operations Administrator and Program

Director

● Conducts follow-up reviews when necessary and in a timely manner

● Reports licensing infractions or conditions that may be a threat to the health

and/or safety of children to the appropriate licensing agency

Qualifications and Requirements

● High School Diploma or equivalent level of education

● Effective verbal and written skills

● Ability to respond to supervision and to play an active role in the

implementation of requests made by supervisor

● Ability to work effectively and positively within a team environment

● A working knowledge of the principles of administrative practices

● Exhibit behavior which conforms to the highest standards of ethics and

professionalism

● Must be neat in appearance and be able to represent Highland Food

Resources in a professional manner at all times

Computer Literacy

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is required.

Ability to navigate the internet seamlessly, including but not limited to, search

engines.

Language Requirements

Native (English) or bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency

Travel and Availability Requirements - South Florida Region

Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability, and

property damage insurance on vehicle used is required.
