SUMMARY: Reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Community and Student Support Services and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school and administering various programs as identified and assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assumes direct responsibility for the administration of the elementary school building, enforces the regulations and policies of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools, and interprets such school policies and practices to teachers, students, parents, and the public.
- Provides instructional leadership and direction to support the professional growth of faculty and staff and for positive educational change.
- Studies the educational needs of students attending the school and develops plans for meeting identified needs.
- Participates in the selection of personnel as outlined by District regulations.
- Provides and counsels all staff members relative to guidelines based on the District’s performance based evaluation procedures and implement effective evaluation strategies.
- Monitors budget allocations, prepares budgetary requests, and administers expenditures of funds.
- Supervises the instructional staff in the development and implementation of curriculum and student activities.
- Serves as a resource person with ideas, alternatives and suggestions to staff, parents, students and building/District professional development committees.
- Informs appropriate central office administrators with respect to personnel, equipment, supplies, curriculum, transportation, maintenance and repair needs.
- Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of reports, records, and all other paperwork required for and/or appropriate to the school’s administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current Principal’s certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, at the appropriate level.
- Master’s Degree in Education or Teaching.
- Minimum five years of successful teaching, supervisory, and/or administrative experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, colleagues, school groups, and community organizations.
- Vision and leadership skills to assist staff in meeting rigorous academic standards.
- Extensive knowledge base on school reform efforts, data analysis, curriculum and fiscal management.
- Demonstrated ability to increase academic achievement.
- Demonstrated ability to form effective relationships with all members of the school community.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and human relations skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Successful completion of background check by Human Resources.
Physical Demands
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or

- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Year: 12 Month
Salary: Administrator Range on the District Administrative Salary Schedule Scale IV - $75,000 - $105,000 (salary negotiable)
