What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist position at HIGHLAND DISTRICT HOSPITAL?
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technicians and other technical employees and for the duties in a hospital pharmacy department with centralized unit dose and IV admixture services. The pharmacist dispenses medication upon receipt of the physician’s order; provides drug information to the staff; provides appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients; maintains and coordinates systems to ensure pharmacy operations are efficient; assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures, and of quality control and performance improvement measures; and performs duties of technical or clerical staff as required.
Qualifications:Licensure in good standing as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
Additional training in specific areas of disease state management, e.g., diabetes is preferred.
