Maintenance Tech I/Security - PRN

PRN - Can work various shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed. 

Position Summary:
Is responsible for the security and surveillance of all equipment, building and grounds.   Assists employees, visitors, physicians and patients as required in a courteous manner.
Makes periodic rounds of the facility and grounds to ensure the security and safety of the employees, patients and visitors.

Position Accountabilities:

• Conducts self in a professional manner.
• Consistently respects the confidential nature of all information concerning any aspects of the hospital and its patients.
• Investigates all security issues and complaints while on duty or assigned.
• Documents all activities that take place during work shift on security officer report.
• Understands operation of all hospital mechanical equipment.
• Orients new members of the security staff to the requirements of the job.
• Assists in maintaining compliance with all federal, state and local safety & security codes.
• Performs all duties in a cost effective manner striving to avoid wasting hospital resources.
• Assists maintenance staff as required with snow removal and other maintenance tasks.
• Able to perform assigned tasks to assist with building checks; fire alarms, police alarms, water temps, or as required
• Able to operate hospitals moving equipment and vehicles in accordance with the safety rules and driving laws set forth.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and patient safety, assists in maintaining compliance with TJC.
• Must have a good understanding of Highland District Hospital policies and procedures that pertain to the security officer function.
