After 20 years working with Dr. Brooks, we have lost our beloved Dental Assistant to retirement.
This is a permanent 3 and a 1/2 day part time position. It is a great opportunity for someone who takes initiative, see's what needs to be done and does it, likes a peaceful, relaxed work environment and is self managed. In our office we work a balanced schedule of "one" patient at a time! You won't find "crazy" schedules here.
We are a private practice in Saint Paul, fast and easy freeway access just 1 block off of 94 freeway.
The ideal candidate will be x-ray certified and licensed, possess a comprehensive understanding of dental assisting procedures, patient care, and clinic operations. Your expertise in dental terminology, medical documentation, and various Dentrix software systems will contribute to delivering exceptional dental care in a professional environment. We are willing to train in Dentrix if necessary.
Duties
- Assist dentists during crown and bridge dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental X-rays and utilize hand held x-ray equipment
- Assist in recording patient, Dr. notes and treatment plans.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with patients
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support accurate communication within the clinical team.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure required.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control practices, aseptic technique and OSHA
- OSHA: Serve as the point of contact when OSHA inspectors visit, helping the practice seamlessly demonstrate compliance and avoid costly penalties. [1, 2, 3]maintain up-to-date documentation on employee medical records, hepatitis B vaccinations, training logs, and incident reports (Training will be provided if needed)
- Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix (will train if needed)
- Ability to operate X-ray machines
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor to foster positive patient interactions.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology for accurate documentation and communication within the team. - Hourly wage $30-$35 depending on experience
- Work hours: Mon, Tues, Wed 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Thurs 7:45 a.m-12:30 p.m. If Dr. is done early and you would like to leave early, that's your choice :-)
