Position Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing direct clinical services to adult clients receiving treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and co-occurring conditions, with a focus on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). The NP collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team to assess, diagnose, treat, and support clients in accordance with medical standards, OhioMHAS regulations, and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments for adult clients with SUD and co-occurring disorders.
- Diagnose, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage MAT medications, including but not limited to buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), naltrexone, and other approved medications as appropriate.
Medication Management
- Monitor medication adherence, effectiveness, and side effects.
- Adjust medications as clinically indicated in collaboration with clients and team members.
- Educate clients on medication use, risks, benefits, and recovery expectations.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team including counselors, case managers, peer supporters, and physicians.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination activities.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure all services are compliant with state and federal laws, OhioMHAS regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
5. Professional Practice
- Maintain active licensure and certification.
- Complete required continuing education and comply with MAT and prescribing guidelines.
- Follow all Anchor Health Services policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Ohio.
- DEA license
- Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in SUD and/or MAT services
- Current CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
- May involve exposure to clients in early recovery and behavioral health crises.
- May require occasional evening hours depending on client needs.
