SUMMARY    

Highland Community College seeks a dynamic and results-oriented enrollment management professional to contribute to the recruitment and enrollment of a talented and diverse student body. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic recruitment initiatives, cultivating relationships with students and their families, and guiding applicants throughout the enrollment process. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and articulate communicator with a passion for higher education and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator works cross-functionally to support prospective student recruitment throughout the enrollment process. Using a strategic enrollment framework this candidate may execute the following activities throughout the year. Please note that this position requires a flexible schedule and weekly day travel, with occasional overnight travel. While travel is cyclical- after-hours activities, same day, and overnight travel averages annually 50% of this position.

  1. Recruitment and Enrollment Management Activities:
  • Execute recruitment plans and strategies to meet or exceed enrollment goals for assigned student populations.
  • Represent Highland Community College at college fairs, high school visits, community events, and other recruitment activities, both in-person and virtually.
  • Conduct engaging and informative presentations to prospective students, parents, and counselors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, independent educational consultants, college faculty and staff, and community organizations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, departments, and lead initiatives.
  • Participate in unit and department meetings, training opportunities, and other appropriate professional development.
  • Stay informed about current trends in higher education recruitment and retention best practices.
  1. Student Recruitment Process Management:
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Participate in campus activity and student success planning, providing thoughtful and informed recommendations.
  • Problem-solving skills and a student-centered approach to service delivery.
  1. Student Success and Relationship Building:
  • Provide personalized guidance and support throughout the enrollment process for students.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from students, parents, and counselors via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to nurture prospective students through the recruitment and engagement funnel.
  1. Campus Engagement and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and current students to create a welcoming and informative campus visit experience for students and their families, at all stages of the college lifecycle.
  • Participate in on-campus recruitment events, such as open houses, information sessions, and admitted student days.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop compelling marketing campaigns and digital content.
  1. Technology Usage, Data Stewardship, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of enrollment management activities and applicant interactions within the CRM system.
  • Review reports and share analysis with student success leaders on enrollment management activities and progress towards retention and persistence metrics.
  • Act as a student success software functional super user, championing usage and quality initiatives.
  • Leverage technology to manage prospective student recruitment activities and analyze data to track pace and success metrics toward enrollment.
  • Other duties as assigned by HCC leadership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This candidate will contribute to training and supervision of student workers for recruitment events in this position.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding recruitment goals.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, Element 451) and other technology platforms (EdSights, Colleague, etc.).  
  • Valid driver's license with no major infractions within the last five years and the ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays, as required.
  • Knowledge of Highland Community College's mission, values, and academic programs is desirable.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred, higher education and college admissions experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Computer Skills

Extensive use of the computer is required with this position. Employee should have a good working knowledge of word processing, database, and spread sheet functions, e-mail, Internet, Windows, and multi-user systems.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of trustees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to write and explain recommendations for complex projects and programs.

Salary : $35,000 - $40,000
