What are the responsibilities and job description for the Allied Health Instructor position at HIGHLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
We are looking for caring and knowledgeable instructors for our Allied Health courses taught at various locations. We offer courses for CNA, CMA, EMT, and Home Health Aide.
Our current need is for CNA instructors in the following locations:
- Wamego
- Sabetha
- Hiawatha
- Atchison
Nurse Aide
- Hold a current Kansas Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of two years full-time licensed nursing experience (LPN or RN) including one of the following:
- At least 1,750 hours of that experience must be as a licensed nurse in a setting which demonstrates long-term nursing care, such as an adult care home, long term care unit of a hospital or a state institution for the mentally handicap or
- Complete at least 7 hours professional continuing education in “Person Centered Care for the Adult Care Home.”
- Meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Experience supervising nurse aides or
- Experience teaching adults or
- Complete a course in teaching adults or
- Complete a professional continuing education offering on supervision or adult education.
Medication Aide:
- Hold a current Kansas Registered Nurse license for a minimum of two years
- Minimum of two years full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse (not LPN).
Home Health Aide:
- Hold a current Kansas Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of two years full-time licensed nursing experience (LPN or RN) including at least 1,750 hours as a licensed nurse in home health care services.
EMT:
- Must be a paramedic
- Must have 2-3 years’ experience in emergency ambulance services
- Must have experience in supervising EMTs.
