What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parents Day Out Teacher & Substitutes position at Highland Baptist Church?
Highland Baptist Church's Parents Day Out is looking for reliable teachers and substitute teachers to care for children (Birth to 5 years). We seek candidates that are committed Christians, active in their local church, and seek to enrich the lives of children enrolled in our program.
Pay: Starting at $11.50 per hour, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30am-2:45pm. Substitutes will fill in when a teacher is out.
Job Description
- Responsible for age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, maintaining a safe environment, putting children down for naps, holding, sitting with, and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, crafts, and play.
- Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
- Arrive on time when scheduled.
- Follow the HBC child protection policy and PDO employee handbook.
- Stay until all children are secured with the adult who dropped them off, or who is listed on the child’s pickup list.
- Straighten room and clean any used toys/beds before leaving.
- Other duties assigned by the Parents Day Out Coordinator.
Requirements
- A desire to grow in your relationship with God and serve children and their families.
- High School diploma required.
- Preference given to candidates with childcare experience.
- 18 years or older.
- Must be willing to submit (and pass) background screenings.
- Must be able to pass our online child abuse training exam.
