Come join Highgate for the summer in one of our dynamic, paid internships!
We are currently offering an opportunity for a Accounting Intern to support our Accounting operations team overseeing our Hotel Property portfolio. This 10-week immersive program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a variety of accounting functions, allowing you to learn about the hospitality industry while working in a fun and fast-paced environment.
This position is based from our corporate offices in Irving, TX.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Accounting team in a 10-week internship program and gain exposure to core accounting functions and processes.
- Provide support to Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Month-End Close, Data Analysis, Financial Statement preparation and more.
- Assist with various projects as needed.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree.
- Minimum Junior status.
- Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time efficient manner.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to participate in a summer internship program of 10 weeks (June to August).
- You must reside in Dallas, TX during the internship and work onsite.
- Salary - $20/hr for 40 hour week /10 weeks.
