Social Strategist

About The Role

Higher Ground is seeking a creative and data-driven Social Strategist [Freelance] to help shape and amplify the company’s presence across social platforms. This role will develop and execute strategies that grow audience engagement, elevate our brand, and support the release of our film, television, and audio projects.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of social trends, storytelling, and audience behavior. You’re fluent in digital culture, comfortable translating creative content into platform-specific campaigns, and passionate about the intersection of entertainment and purpose.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cross-platform social strategies that reflect Higher Ground’s voice, values, and storytelling priorities.
• Partner with the creative, production, and marketing teams to plan and execute social campaigns for new releases and company initiatives.
• Create and maintain social content calendars across platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, etc.).
• Analyze performance metrics to refine strategy and report on insights, engagement, and growth.
• Identify cultural moments and platform trends that align with Higher Ground’s projects and brand.
• Manage posting, community engagement, and day-to-day platform activity, ensuring brand consistency and responsiveness.
• Contribute to the creative development of digital assets, copy, and campaigns.
• Stay current on social best practices, platform updates, and emerging technologies.
  
  

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in social media strategy or digital marketing, ideally in entertainment, media, or storytelling environments.
• Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
• Proven success developing and executing high-impact social campaigns.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms.
• Experience working cross-functionally with creative and production teams.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
