What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Psychotherapist position at Higher Ground Psychotherapy?
Looking for a clinical home, not just a caseload? Higher Ground is a private-pay psychotherapy and ketamine studio in Woodbury and Westport, CT, and we're looking for a licensed clinician to join our team.
Higher Ground Psychotherapy and Ketamine Studio is an out-of-network group practice with locations in Woodbury and Westport, Connecticut. Our clinical work centers on complex trauma, couples and family systems, and addiction, alongside a ketamine-assisted psychotherapy program that includes infusions, IM, and lozenge work. Our clients are high-functioning, often successful, and carrying things that have not responded to surface-level treatment.
We're looking for a fully licensed clinician to join our team across both locations. Someone trained in attachment-based approaches who does genuine depth work and wants to keep doing it.
A note on caseload: because we're a self-pay practice, intake is selective and builds over time rather than starting at volume. That's intentional. We'd rather support a smaller, sustainable caseload of the right clients than fill a calendar quickly with the wrong fit. We're making a long-term investment in the right hire, with the goal of building toward a full-time position.
What we're looking for:
- Independent clinical licensure in Connecticut (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or PsyD/PhD)
- Willingness to work across our Woodbury and Westport locations
- Attachment-based training and genuine comfort doing depth work
- Interest or experience in couples, family, or group work, or in facilitating clinical workshops
- A self-pay, out-of-network practice model fits your values or your goals.
On KAP: Experience or formal training in psychedelic-assisted therapy is a strong plus. For clinicians who are interested in this work but not yet trained, we offer formal pathways into ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and intensive work as part of professional development here. This is a meaningful part of what we offer the right person.
