Outreach Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Outreach Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the GO Center and underclass programs and assists the management team in delivering college and career programming for inspirED, the Outreach Division of Higher Education Servicing Corporation (HESC).

HESC currently operates 19 school-based and community GO Centers (college and career centers) throughout Arlington, Kennedale, and Mansfield ISDs to expand and enhance college access and student success initiatives throughout the Greater Arlington area.

The Outreach Specialist plays an integral role in ensuring programs and services are delivered effectively while providing exceptional support to students, mentors and school partners. This position serves as a key liaison between mentors, schools and community partners by coordinating program logistics, maintaining program records, supporting mentor operations, and assisting with outreach events and presentations.

This position requires regular local travel to school campuses, community sites and outreach events. Occasional evening, weekend and overnight travel may be required to support special events, conferences, trainings and other program activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support the logistics, scheduling and resource needs for high school college and career readiness initiatives, including GO Center programming, presentations, workshops and special events.
• Increase awareness of inspirED initiatives, including the GO Center and underclass services, among students, families and stakeholders
• Support GO Center mentor operations, including recruitment, onboarding, documentation, scheduling, training, communication, and administrative processes related to the college work-study program and payroll support.
• Conduct regular campus visits to observe mentor performance, strengthen relationships with school partners, document visit outcomes and develop follow-up action plans that support program quality and continuous improvement.
• Provide ongoing coaching, training and professional development to mentors through individualized support, skill-building opportunities and regular follow-up to strengthen performance and ensure consistent program implementation.
• Document programmatic outputs and compile detailed monthly reports on outreach activities
• Maintain accurate program data and assist with evaluating program outcomes by identifying trends and providing data-informed recommendations to strengthen services and student success.
• Coordinate the promotion and scheduling of College Prep and FAFSA Prep presentations throughout North Texas
• Assist in the planning and execution of events with district partners, including Destination Success and College and Career Expo
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Outreach Coordinator and Assistant Director of Outreach through daily tasks and special projects.
• Participate in quarterly Advisory Committee meetings
• Actively participate in community engagement efforts as HESC seeks to be a recognized leader in college access and success programs and services in the North Texas region
• Assist the Outreach team with implementing new initiatives and improving programs and services to ensure they remain meaningful, measurable and sustainable.
• Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required

Experience and Requirements:

• Must have an understanding of college application and financial aid process
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to present confidently and effectively in front of large audiences
• Must be able to manage multiple people in a decentralized setting and tasks at one time
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite applications, especially Google Docs
• Must be a proactive, positive and energetic, success-oriented leader
• Experience as a teacher, counselor, mentor or advisor at a secondary school, post-secondary school, or organization dedicated to college access and success preferred

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
